History - Youngest daughter and child of Johnathan and Bethanny Dalton, a wealthy lawyer and a homemaker in West Beverly Hills, California. Before Elizabeth was born, Bethanny became very tired of her husband and his behavior toward her. His behavior toward her worsened when she became pregnant with their fifth child, an un-planned pregnancy. Instead of staying with him, Bethanny left one night, away from him and the rest of her children. Bethanny went and stayed with her parents, where she gave birth to Elizabeth one night late in July. The first moment that Bethanny saw Elizabeth, she knew that she would be like her: a Mutant. Bethanny's own talents were that of the mind: telepathy. They stayed there for six years, as Bethanny went back to college to finish her education to receive a masters in English. When Elizabeth was six and a half, Johnathan found Bethanny. He placed a restraining order on her, and pulled some strings to gain custody of Elizabeth. Before giving her youngest daughter up, Bethanny wiped Elizabeth's memory of the previous six years, fearing that it would be a very traumatic experience if she left in the memories.
Elizabeth lived with her father for twelve years, in the lap of luxury. She had absolutely everything she ever wanted or desired, except for love. She was a very depressed girl, who usually found herself alone. She also was prone to having violent mood swings, where her personality could change at any time. How people act towards her affected her very easily. All she wished was that people would accept her for what she is, and deal with it. She didn't asked to be born different. On her 13th birthday, her powers surfaced themselves in the form of the Bulwinkles she was having her party at--which her father forced her to have--burning down.
Liz never got to really know any of her siblings, because they all disliked her for being the youngest. Not even her father, or her step mom (who is only five years older than Liz) showed Liz the love she desired. However, her sister, Samantha, felt bad for her, and would give her special treatment when no one else was around. In 1996, to get away from everyone, and start a new life, Liz left them all behind on the West coast, and left for NYC. Liz's first few nights in New York were more than wonderful. On the first night, she lost control of her powers when she trying to light a simple candle. Part of her new apartment burnt down. Her neighbor, who felt the flames, was nice enough to let Liz stay with her for a while. Like Liz, the woman was different, but she was alike Liz in one important way: she was a pyrokinetic.
The woman helped Liz to gain control of her emotions and her powers. When Liz better understood herself, she started to believe that the powers had a purpose, that they weren't just happenstance. They set her apart from the bulk of humanity. This means she has a responsibility to use them.
